Our Romantik Hotel
Located in the heart of the old town, our Romantik Hotel invites you to spend the night in a unique historical ambience.
The traditional pub “Zur Glocke” is an institution in Trier. The oldest pub in town has been in the gastronomical business since 1803. However, the history of the building at Glockenstraße 12 can be traced back much longer.
The listed front house was built in 1567 as part of the Trier Curia on walls dating from the 12th century. Our historical cellar vault dates back to the fortification of the Cathedral in the 11th century. Some large-size stone blocks of the fortification can still be seen today. It is likely that the cellar was used as a wine storehouse during the Middle Ages.
From 2012 to 2016, the Glocke was laboriously renovated. In addition, the hotel business, which was discontinued in the 1990s, was resumed. Our guests can now expect lovingly and individually decorated rooms over three floor levels. Besides spacious double rooms, the owner-managed hotel offers suites and junior suites. Some of our rooms have a beautiful view of the Cathedral of Trier.
We are already looking forward to welcoming you soon in “our Glocke”.
Your Brommenschenkel family as well as all employees of the Romantik Hotel and the pub zur Glocke.
